Season 9
King of the Hill returns with season 9 on 11-7-2004 and the season’s opening episode was entitled ‘A Rover Runs Through it‘. Season opener begins with Peggy as she returns to her home to settle up the things with her mother. It’s Christmas and Ms. Wakefield, an elderly stranger visits the Hills’. Ms. Wakefield reveals her desire to die in their house and it causes a lot of troubles for Hills. Cotton gets $10,000 from his friend Topsy and buys a timeshare. Hank receives lots of compliments for his garden and Peggy gets jealous of all this.
Hank takes in a pet a vicious and a mean hearted cat, Duke. Various other plot developments this season were- a veterinarian presents Hill with a bill for several thousand dollars; Fox network has been blocked on Hill’s TV and Bobby tries to block the network; Hank fails to pay insurance money but still he’s to save his home from any harm; Condition of field is not playable so the High School team can’t play and the groundkeeper is on the verge to lost his job; John asks Hank to play at the Family Fun Day at Strickland Propane; Dale gets outraged by the ban of smoking in the town; Someone else is hired at the news station so Nancy loses her job; Peggy and Bobby both undergo a tournament for ping pong. Season comes to an end on 5-15-2005 and the season finale was entitled ‘It Ain’t Over Till The Fat Neighbor Sings’. On this season finale, Bill looks for a new hobby so joins all-male chorus, the Harmonaholics. Along with his fellows at Harmonaholics, Bill goes AWOL to tour. On the other hand, Bobby and Peggy undergo a Ping-Pong tournament.

Bobby gets on to the track team which makes Hank to proud on.But after some time, Hank realizes that Bobby is a decoy which the coach uses to motivate other players on the team. It results in Hank pushing Bobby back to his limits.
