Mike Judge Invests in $4.45 Million House in Santa Monica!

Mike Judge might have made the small house of the Hills in the fictional town of Arlen, Texas, which seems like a cozy place to live, but he evidently has bigger dreams for himself.

The creator of King of the Hills has left his rivals stumped, by investing in a huge mansion in Santa Monica, previously owned by business mogul, Richard Taite.

Taite, who owns a rehab facility in Malibu, bought the house in 2009 for $3.6 million.

The move has proved that Mike is not just the man behind the King of the Hills, but is indeed, no less than a king himself!

The lush mansion, now priced at a whopping $4.895 million, is built in a contemporary Mediterranean style, and is a double-storied house, sprawling over 3,700 square feet.

The interiors of the house comprise 4 bedrooms and 41/2 bathrooms, as well as a detached guesthouse-cum-office. The house also boasts of 3 stone fireplaces, wood-beam ceilings, and mosaic tile work. Its custom ironwork is an add-on feature, which might have also appealed to Mike.

The man is definitely making some big money, all thanks to the creative mind, which he never seems to put to rest.

If you wish to watch some of Mike’s work, you can get a King of the Hill download to do so.

Considering that Mike has two Emmy awards to his credit, you can be assured of not getting disappointed, as you watch the show, which is one of his best-known projects, and is now in its thirteenth season.

The 49-year old animator also works as a voice-actor in his self-created animated show on MTV, “Beavis and the Butt-Head”.

The best known film to his credit is the 1999 satire, “Office Space”, in which he had the audiences in splits, with his humorous take on work life, in a software company.

Let’s just hope that Mike’s new house further boosts his creative genius, and we get a lot more from him, in the years to come!

Lindsays Love for a Dead Man Surfaces!

I still remember the ‘King of the Hill’ episode that starred Lindsay Lohan in a guest appearance.

The ‘Mean Girls’ fan that I was, there was no way that I was going to miss out on the episode! And it sure proved to be worth the anticipation, as the glorious star infused magic into the show, with her powerful, albeit short, appearance.

If you missed the episode, you can watch King of the Hill online, and if you are lucky enough, you just might be successful in singling it out, from the endless episodes of the show.

If you do, be sure to download it, since this one is definitely a keeper!

Talking of Lindsay; the actress has a way of keeping herself in the news, with her controversies perfectly spaced out, ensuring that something is written about her, in the tabloids, all year round.

(Not that we mind!)

The latest gossip fodder from the actress’ kitty has been her alleged love affair with deceased actor, Heath Ledger, of ‘Brokeback Mountain’ fame.

Diary entries of the star, from years ago, have surfaced, in which it is evident that she had strong feelings for Ledger. Written with a pink glitter pen, a diary entry from 22nd January 2008 mentions Lindsay saying, that it was the day Heath died, and that she was in love with him.

She continues to say that he was the love of her life, and that she had learnt so much from him.

The emotional journal entry also mentions Lindsay saying that he was “everything and more” that she wanted from life.

Lindsay also wrote that she craved for his touch, and that she wanted to hear him laugh, and hold her, and care for her.

The actor, who died from an accidental overdose, broke up with his wife, Michelle Williams, shortly before his tragic death and was rumored to be romancing Lindsay at the time of his death.

Well, while we cannot ignore the prospect of Lindsay having purposefully released the diary entry for some publicity, our heart goes out to her, and we wish peace for the soul of her lover!

Whos Your Pick For The Most Detestable Character on King of the Hill?

The answer to the titular question should not be a very confusing one, considering there is just one character on the show who is downright detestable, with no doubt about it. The character in question, is of course, the one and only Bill Dauterive.

As we watch flashbacks of this character, it is impossible to believe that the strong, athletic youth, with flowing hair that we see on the screen, has gone on to become the balding old man we can only pity.

However, before you jump to the conclusion that the reason we loathe Bill Dauterive is his repulsive physical appearance, let us inform you that it is much more than just that. Bill’s self-sympathy is what makes him immensely despicable. The way he brings up his past at whatever possible occasion, and seems to love talking about the way his father abused him in his childhood, and his broken relationship with his ex-wife, makes him a typical ‘sympathy-seeker’, and definitely not the kind of person we love to watch!

No wonder, when any of his friends refers to the one person they wish never to be like, Bill is always the one quoted as an example of a complete failure. For example, in one particular episode, Hank, while talking of the importance of a man having a lawn, mentions that without a lawn, he would be Bill.

Peggy hates Bill to the extent that she nauseates at the very thought of Hank being Bill. Ironically, Bill is deeply in love with Peggy, and is often seen passing inappropriate remarks about her.

To top it all, Bill has disgustingly poor body hygiene, and is known for hardly ever taking bath or brushing his teeth. While this was initially believed to be as a result of him consuming experimental drugs in the “Operation: Infinite Walrus”, it was later revealed that he was in the group administered with placebo drugs.

While we must admit that we love to watch Bill on our screens each time we get a King of the Hill download, we thank goodness that he is a fictional character whom we’ll never have to encounter in reality!

A Lesson or Two to Be Learnt From Bobby Hill!

Look around you, and you will realize that there is something to be learnt from every one, no matter how poor or unlucky they might seem to you.

Bobby Hill, the character from King of the Hill, is one such example, who, despite being imperfect, in every sense of the word, has a great lesson in self-esteem to teach.

By the way, Bobby is the son of the show’s protagonist, Hank Hill.

As anyone who watches the King of the Hill episodes would know, he and his father do not get along as one would expect a father and son to. The basic reason behind the hatred that Hank exhibits for Bobby is the lack of physical attributes and praiseworthy talents in him.

Bobby stands at 4’11’’ tall, and is overweight, which makes him the butt of all jokes, both at school and back at home too.

This leads to various perceptions being formed about him, which include a question mark on his sexuality, as well as comments about him being odd and passive.

To put it in his father’s words, “That boy ain’t right.”

However, the admirable part about this boy is that he embraces all the qualities that he has, with pride and does not let any amount of contempt, shake his self-confidence.

Even though he might not have the athletic prowess that his father wished he had, he is a naturally talented marksman, and is very funny to be around, which makes him dream of being a prop comic, when he grows up.

This quality makes him popular with the girls, giving him the status of a ladies’ man.

Moreover, he does not let the fact that his father is not proud of him, serve as an impediment to their relationship. He respects Hank, and considers him his hero. They even share some common interests, which include shooting and golfing.

There are several odd relationships in the world, but this one might just take the cake!

Going the animated way seems to be the flavor of the season!

But, are we complaining folks? Certainly not!

After all, with programs like King of the Hill, who wouldn’t be asking for more and more? Well, I can reckon plenty of consenting voices, and wait till I give you more dope on this one!

King of the Hill creators, Mike Judge and Greg Daniels have tasted immense success and the show, to date, remains hugely popular.

The considerable clamoring for their expertise and experience has led NBC to negotiate a deal with one of the veterans. It has decided to rope in Greg Daniels to provide his services for the network. Good move, we say!

The buzz has it that NBC intends to launch animation series to rival FOX’s popular animation shows. Hmm! Channel rivalry swaggers!

And in that case, we know that NBC has the best man on their side now. Greg Daniels has been in the field long enough and his expertise has benefitted many a program.

Since the channel is relying on the creative genius of Daniels to steer it into the prime time animation world, it can be rest assured that he will bring nothing short of the best for them.

There are several programs in the offing where Daniels would be chipping in, but his focus would be on doing what he is best at - animation. He has written for The Simpsons and Seinfeld apart from King of the Hill, and that is one impressive line up to talk of.

The day NBC announced this coming together; it augured great news for the viewers. And why do I say this? Watch King of the Hill online or just download it and you’ll know exactly what I am getting at.

It won’t be wrong to say that Robert Greenblatt has surely chosen wisely and well. Wish you all the luck Daniels! Hope your efforts bear sweet fruits for the channel.

Would you consider Hank Hill to be the Wisest Character on the Small Screen?

Over the years, you have witnessed many a dad in anime shows like Family Guy, American Dad, Simpsons, etc. But have you ever tried to figure out why the father in King of the Hill has been regarded as one of the wisest fathers of the lot?

Well not just wisest among fathers, but ahead of all the other cartoon characters on the small screen!

If you haven’t thought about it, then let’s trigger a discussion on that.

Hank Hill, the patriarch of a Texas-based family, has been presented as a man of ideologies and conviction.

He is a guy who hates to hurt his work at any cost. It’s a different story that his introverted attitude makes him a laughing stock. But when you would bring Homer Jay Simpson, or Peter Griffin, or Stan Smith into the scene, you would perhaps see that none matches the suaveness of Hank.

More than anything else, in case of Homer, Peter and to some extent Stan, humor is drawn out of their boisterous insanity. On the other hand, Hank Hill is an altogether a different kind of fish!

It is just his too much involvement in his job as an assistant manager or his hyper feeling of pride for being the resident of Texas that tickle the funny bone of the fans.

Unlike other anime dads, Hank Hill is a thinking guy. He would ponder on some insane deeds several times, before actually leaping on it.

One disadvantage that the character possesses is that he is against all kinds of technological advancement. It is probably because of his job, which involves the promotion and selling of propane and propane accessories.

He is wise because he doesn’t beat up his wife in any of the King of the Hill episodes because of his own sexual disabilities.

After learning that he was born in New York City and not in Texas, he didn’t behaved insanely and stopped being a true American.

A wise, introverted hero is our Hank Hill!

The Curious Case of Brittany Murphy’s Father’s Absence from her Death Certificate!

Could you figure out how Brittany Murphy is associated with King of the Hill anime series? Well, let me remind you that the late actress used to voice one of the characters on the show.

I guess, all of you are aware that in December, 2009, the adorable actress breathed her last. And it is quite weird to find out that only after about 16 months since her death, that her father’s name was included in the death certificate!

As per reports, the move was made in order to allow Angelo Bertolotti, Brittany’s father, to pay regular visits to his daughter’s grave. I think, I need to throw some more light on the whole issue to make things clear.

Since Angelo Bertolotti’s name was not included in the death certificate of Brittany, the Forest Lawn cemetery officials had been showing issue of no-valid-proof of relationship. And it was for that reason, that a petition for the change of the ‘unknown’ father’s name field of Brittany’s certificate was submitted.

Well better late than never! But I really wonder why it took so long for her father to realize the fact.
The new amendment in Brittany’s death certificate would not just console her father, but also her long-standing fans, who might still love to watch King of the Hill online to enjoy her voice-over performance.

Besides being an actress and voice-over artist, she was also an ace singer. I am pretty sure that most of her followers still go for the download of her albums as a gesture of affection towards her.

Brittany’s sudden death from pneumonia sent shockwaves across the entertainment world. It’s said that unable to bear the pain of the loss of his wife, Simon Monjack passed away within five months of Brittany’s demise.

Although, she is no longer with us, but her voice-over acts for anime character Luanne Platter will keep on making us nostalgic about her. May her soul rest in peace!

This is what we call ‘Entertainment With A Difference!’

Contemporary viewers want entertainment with a touch of freshness. TV viewers are no longer willing to stick to the old ideas of story-telling. This is where the animated series, ‘King of the Hill’, made a mark and stole our hearts!

Its entire journey has been marked by some innovatively scripted episodes that portrayed the lives of Hill family. I can remember the one titled, ‘Reborn to Be Wild’, which certainly deserves to be mentioned.

The soul of this episode was its thought-provoking, yet, extremely funny storyline. It brought forward Hank’s (family head) growing concern over Bobby (Hank’s son) getting trapped in bad influences. Hank came to his rescue and convinced Bobby to join a church group that was dominated by youngsters.

I remember how Bobby was struck by utter surprise when he saw that the group’s way of connecting to God was totally different from the age old spiritual traditions. He found himself surrounded by cool punks, who tried to strike a connection with God through skateboarding and rock music!

Bobby’s interest in religion steadied gradually and Hank approved of this new change in his attitude. However, Hank was not in favor of the group’s treatment of religion as a fad. In the meantime, Hank’s pals formed a special club, where they minted up various delicacies.

I must add that ‘Reborn to be Wild’ is a perfect example of why King of the Hill managed to keep the viewers glued, throughout its run. If you think that only Japanese animation deserves to be hailed as masterpiece, then check out this one and who knows you may be forced to change your opinion!
